The Wolf Full Moon is the first full moon of the new year, appearing in January. It marks the season of endurance, hunger, and survival. Cold air carries the howls of hungry wolves further, filling the deep Winter nights with their song.

This artwork features a white wolf in front of a full moon, her flank decorated with a symbol of the sun. Bordering the art are: Elderberries; which help us fight off the sicknesses that come in Winter, Partridgeberry; an available food in the times of hunger if you know where to look, Cedar; a powerful medicine that aids the lungs and uplifts the spirit, Turkey Feathers; a relieving sign that there are other creatures around even in the days of ice, and lastly Carnelian; a fiery stone to warm us.
